Missing you

"But I miss him"
"Then miss him. Send him love and then drop it."
While my 'him' is actually multiple people, this quote from Eat Pray Love has felt encouraging. While I am missing my family and friends I also want to be living in the moment here and 'squeeze the orange' as my pappy would say.
One part of 'squeezing the orange' that is Brasil has been a trip to Rio.

Doesn't the helicopter make it look like a toy city? Well.. it's not. It's a big scary city.

  1. Thanks for sharing...you are in my prayers. We just talked about this statue of Christ this week. As you share it prepares this mother's heart for the very real possibility of my own children being called by God to another country...one's heart is Berlin, Germany...another is being called to Africa.

May God continue to show you the balance...may He wrap his loving arms around you when you are missing all the people back home...may He show Himself through the smiles of those that are around you.
Blessings in your walk of obedience and blessings on those at home that are also missing you...what a sacrifice on their part also!

  2. Hailey ... I'm certain it is not easy being so far away from home , and your family misses you too! I think it is wonderful that you have selflessly traveled around the world away from family and friends to give a hope to those who so desperately need it.

May God and his Angels keep you safe and give you the strength to remaind strong. May you you be blessed with signs from God and his Angels that your work is truly making a difference. You remain in my thoughts and prayers. I know you Mother is so proud of you!!! Hugs my young friend.. blessings.. HHL

  4. Hailey Beth, I enjoyed Eat, Pray, Love too. (To be honest, the combination of three of my greatest loves -- food, prayer, and books -- was bound to get a thumbs-up from yours truly.) Great quote. And something that I need to remind myself occasionally.

Another great reminder: Squeeze the orange. Words of wisdom. The great and powerful Hans has spoken. :)

P.S. While I know you're all grown up now, it still feels weird to me when you and I like the same books. I remember when you were really (and I mean REALLY) into Lemony Snicket. You've come a long way, friend.

  5. Great pictures... would love to hear more about your Rio trip.

I've been fretting all morning that I miss Paris... so I'll just miss her, and leave it at that! Saw the movie, but forgot that quote. Thanks for the reminder!
